Our technicians proposed the use of high-density urethane (HDU). It would allow us to sandblast the material, which is a manufacturing method that the client had fallen in love with.
However, HDU is far more durable than wood. Whereas wood is a natural material that eventually ages and rots, HDU is human-made, waterproof, and of no interest to insects. It will not dry rot or waterlog and warp. In short, it is the perfect alternative to wood signage.
Next, we updated the color play of the signage. The new background tone is darker to make the creamy-white lettering pop. It rejuvenates the sign’s presence and gives the HOA-controlled area a contemporary look and feel. The client was delighted with the finished results.
