The administration was looking for a way to brand the facility while assisting new students and returning learners with wayfinding. All Star Signs Takes on Challenging Projects with Ease!
Cast aluminum is a beautiful, long-lasting, and elegant material to work with. Each letter is 14” tall. The entire display spans 32.5’. For the installation on the front of the building, we were to mount the style elements to a tile wall. Our installers determined that a pin mount technique was ideal for completing this aspect of the project.
The challenge came into play during the installation of the second set of letters. Once again, the height was 14” and the width 32.5’. However, these elements were to be installed onto a perforated decorative panel. Our technicians designed a matching back panel to be attached to the perforated board, to which we then mounted the lettering.
The finished look is professional, elegant, and well-suited for the brand story of the Rancho Bernardo Education Center.

- Wireways for channel letters. Your property management company specifies that signage may only protrude a small distance from the wall. Concurrently, you are not allowed to flush-mount channel letters to the wall. Some companies might tell you to go with 3D unlit letters instead. We will not. Instead, we propose using a thin wireway that acts as the electrical component enclosure but does not protrude as much as a raceway.
- Plaques on brick walls. Many clients like the sophistication that bronze plaques bring to a location. Some, particularly attorneys or accountants, have begun using these products as building signs. Because they frequently have brick wall exteriors, the installation can be tricky. However, because of the weight of the plaque, the accuracy of the mounting is critical. Do it wrong, and the brick will crumble. Our installers use screws with plastic sleeves that keep the bricks from chipping or breaking.
- Vinyl for walls and cars. You can prevent installation problems of vinyl products by understanding how the different types work. For example, some types of vinyl are excellent for curvatures. Others do better on straight lines. But do not try to use the straight-line vinyl on a car with curves and rivets. We take care to prevent this issue from happening at the design phase of the product.
